Serenade from the Commode
Dinnertime. Nathan suddenly pushes his chair back and exclaims, "I need to go potty!" and runs to the bathroom. From the bathroom, we hear a cheery, three-year-old rendition of "Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down..." Emily, Becky, and Matt attest that it was VERY funny.
The MEANEST Thing
Hayley says, "Nathan bites me ALL the time!"
Nathan: "That's the MEANEST thing I ever SEEN!"
Hayley replies: "Yeah...And YOU do it!"
Homegrown Songs from the Past
Becky says we need to write down the lyrics to "My least favorite things" as composed by herself and Neal. ...but it is understood that Neal actually typed them out and they are residing on the McMillan computer...somewhere... She also tried to sing "Cortez the Plundering Explorer" (to the tune of Rudolph - composed circa 2000 on the way to Seminary). Pretty funny.
McProphecy
Grandpa McMillan shared some of his theories about who the new apostle would be. But, of course, we can't tell YOU who it will be...
Don't Eat the Valuables
Jeff, Andrea & Crew, Aunt Carol, Matt & Becky, and the Ridley Family met at the McParents for some ice cream on Sunday night. Matthew scared us all when he came into the living room pale and gagging. It was determined, after investigation, that he had bitten a chunk out of Grandma's souvenir soap keg from Denmark given to her by her sister, Lucile many years ago. Emily remarked that she was sorry to whoever was going to inherit that in Grandma's will. Grandma will not be pressing charges for the damages - she (or perhaps it was Aunt Carol) said it was just one less knick knack to worry about giving away.
What's in a Name
Becky looked up all of our names here to decide what they mean. Apparently both Nathan and Matthew mean "Gift of God." However she decided that, "Hayley Rebekah" translates loosley into "A bail of hay."
Fire Sky and Ice Cream
We had a short-n-sweet storm roll through recently and, afterwards, we all went outside to have a look. It was sunset. In the west, Hayley and Nathan decided the sky was on fire (with real fire). In the east were some very cool dark and darker blue clouds and a double rainbow. We hung out in the prolonged twilight with the Bird family in their driveway and decided we have a lot on common with them and maybe we'll set up a sort-of preschool thing once a week for Nathan while Hayley is away at Kindergarten. As the sky faded and we walked back to our house, we (that is Dave) invited our neighbor, Robbie, over to our house for a dish of ice cream and a brief-but-fun social visit.
