A Day's Achievements, Failures, Misstatements, and Misadventures

Dave's Day Off ToDo List:
Read (Scriptures, Friend Magazine, Narnia book, and D&C Church History stories) w/ Hayley & Nathan.
Prepare for our upcoming Church date-night exchange activity & secure a babysitter.
Play with my kids (baseball, backyard)
3-5 hours of testing toward child distress outcome measure certification
Meet Nathan's 'preschool' moms
Submit MFT conference application
Outline our next Family Night lesson and activity
Check tire pressure in the car
Lunch meeting with potential MFT Supervisor
3 hours of therapy treatment plan drafting
Change title/license plates on 2 cars
Mow the lawn

About 50/50 completion. My priorities may be a little askew, but not too badly I guess.

The Kindoms of Heaven
Hayley is five and she's been thumbing through the Doctrine and Covenants stories on her own some. She told me tonight at bed time: "The Doctrine and Covenants says that people will grow up without sin and Satan won't be able to tempt us. And after a thousands years, we will live in the CHOLESTEROL kingdom or with Satan." She told me three times that it was the Cholesterol kingdom. So we talked about the names of the kingdoms of heaven. Fun times.

Water Water Everywhere, But...
We had our water unexpectedly turned off just after I stepped into the shower this morning. Thankfully, I had not applied shampoo yet. Apparently the property management company failed to pay a few water bills before we moved in - something from back in February and March. Nice little oversight on their part. Fortunately it was only off for about five hours while the management co. rushed over a check to the city water co. We had to use the toilets at our neighbors' house and I had to go shower at Emily's cousin's house. It has been a nice day otherwise, and a little adventure is generally a good thing.
