Hayley's Chapter Books

We thought we'd write down all of the "Chapter Books" Hayley has read up to this point in her life, lest we forget. Here's all we could remember:

• The BFG - Roald Dhal
• Beezus and Ramona - Beverly Cleary
• Ramona the Pest - Beverly Cleary
• The Mouse and the Motorcycle - Beverly Cleary
• 101 Dalmations - Dodie Smith
• Ramona Forever - Beverly Cleary
• Ramona Quimby, Age Eight - Beverly Cleary
• Ramona the Brave - Beverly Cleary

These are all celebrated by the "book worm" growing on her bedroom wall.

Hayley was almost finished with:
• Little House in the Big Woods - Laura Ingalls Wilder
when she got car sick and perminently spoiled the book. Currently, she's about 100 pages into:
• Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll

I think we've forgotten a couple. It's no good trying to list all the little books she has read before and in between. According to her book reading log for this week, for instance, she spent 299 minutes reading some 11 other little books not listed above (that she could remember and bothered writing down).

Along with reading stories, Hayley also likes to tell them. Here she is telling and retelling a classic family story she inherited from Grandpa Sahn. Grandma Dena captured all the expressiveness that is Hayley as she told it over and over. She sent us this little display which also hangs in Hayley's room by the "book worm."
