Vegas

Day 1: Thursday Afternoon
Drove from 4:30 until bed time at the ancient Hotel Nevada - beware the hot water!!

Day 2: Friday
photo op.: Cacti and bonus tarantulas (with lizard)
Sahara lunch buffet: 7.99 = $ 11/person (w/ Sahara Club card)
New York New York roller coaster (w/ loop and a twist)
Balaggio Water (w/ music)

Day 3: Saturday
Emily's summary: "We wandered around casinos endlessly; and parking lots!" We met with Bryce, Kathy and Elena Caine at a nearby park on their way to the airport. Loving, bright, and cheery people. We spent the day with Joe, Marlow, and Jacob Blodgett. We visited the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and cactus gardens and bought a little M&M dispenser for the kids. Dave and Joe saved the day (or at least their wives' feet) by running a few blocks to get the car (this was one of Dave's most beloved adventures of the day) and Dave and Emily dropped Joe and Marlow in traffic to let them experience the Bellagio Hotel Water show (they caught two shows fifteen minutes apart while Dave and Emily TURNED THE CAR AROUND! in crazy Vegas traffic - Dave counted 5 cars being pulled over and ticketed by the bike police guys in that space, slowing traffic to a crippled crawl.

Day 4: Sunday
Church - Brigadier General speaks on Veterans
Sunday School lesson on Titus & Timothy (endure to the end)
Priesthood: Inspiring missionary experiences passing out cards and inviting others to come unto Christ and quotations from "The Gods we worship." I think I worship the Gods of Comfort and Convenience sometimes.

Day 5: Monday
Said good bye to Emily's Henderson relatives and to my sister Christa and headed all the long way back to Meridian. Some good car conversation and an "in flight" movie - Pursuit of Happiness - helped make the long drive go more smoothly. Arrived home after eleven and relieved the grandparents of their post with many thanks exchanged both ways.
